eLearning certification courses in Clean Energy Project Analysis.

In partnership with various renewable energy and government organizations, the Clean Energy Institute provides a series services related to clean energy education and training.

The length of our courses varies from a few weeks for courses on one technology, to a semester for our multi-technology course. The approach for our Clean Energy Project Analysis distance learning courses is based on:

EDUCATION PARTNER

  • Material initially developed by a partnership between the United Nations Environmental Program, the Global Environment Fund and the Canadian Government.
  • Effective combination of web-based eLearning technologies, portals (currently the leading eLearning web portal), streaming audios/videos, etc.
  • Exams on each technology (quizzes with questions of type multiple choice, fill the blank, multiple answers, matching text, open questions).
  • Each exam ensures that participants have acquired enough understanding of the technology to perform a technical and economical pre-feasibility study analysis
  • Participants are required to complete assignments to reinforce their understanding of the technology. Instructors provide feedback to each student individually on their assignments.
  • Participants learn how to complete several RETScreen feasibility analyses from scratch. All important technical and economic aspects of the analysis are covered. The RETScreen assignments are based on case studies where all relevant context information is provided.
  • At the end of the course, students complete a renewable energy project feasibility analysis based on a real project. Students can select from supplied projects, or come up with their own project proposal.
